AMIA has introduced a comprehensive Injury, Incident and Near Hit Reporting and investigation process. This involves a range of structured change management procedures that identifies hazards in the workplace.
Regular Business safety toolbox talks is one means of addressing safety issues inside our business.
Building a safety culture includes every person in our business and they can be comfortable to speak up and report safety issues and to be part of the solutions too.
Recognition programs that identify and reward safe work practices and initiatives that AMIA has identified are:
- National SafeWork month
- Stop, Wait, Take Five, safety culture to reduce harm and improve awareness
- Actively promoting a Zero Harm Culture
- Safety Reporting and trend analysis to identify areas of concern
- First Attack and Fire Warden training conducted in January 2024
- Monthly inhouse Emergency Warden meetings
- Annual Emergency Evacuations
- Emergency Evacuation procedures and planning
- A Significant decrease in workplace Injuries and workers compensation claims
- AMIA representatives attend Coffs Coast Safety Network meetings
- Plant and equipment compliance and registration
- Maintaining a lean production line that is clean, tidy, and free from hazards
- Inhouse safety training programs
