Shed Windows
For our shed windows, we typically use standard float glass, which is not classified as safety glass. It’s important to note that Section 5 of this standard addresses the impact of human interaction with glazing and outlines specific situations where safety glass is required by law. If your windows do not comply, you may need to consider replacements.
To help you choose the right glazing for your needs, our standard product price files for shed windows and doors offer a variety of options, including obscured glass for added privacy and toughened safety glass. Many toughened glass options are not only essential for safety but also meet compliance requirements for bushfire attack levels.
If you have any questions or need assistance selecting the right glazing option, feel free to reach out to us!

RESIDENTIAL WINDOWS AND DOORS:
To ensure your windows and doors are weatherproof, it’s crucial to install fin patches at the corners of the outer frames where the fins don’t meet. At AMIA, we provide these patches with custom windows. For shed windows, the builder must install them during frame assembly to prevent wet reveals in the corners from water running down the fin.
Most window leaks are caused by improper installation or missing flashings. If flashings are correctly installed and leaks persist, check the positioning of the jamb gaskets. Incorrectly placed gaskets can lead to leaks, often due to factory errors. The photos below show the correct and incorrect positions for jamb gaskets; trimming them for a neater look is not recommended as it can cause further leakage.
If leaks continue despite checking these factors, it may be due to water pressure exceeding the designed capacity of the product. For assistance, please reach out to us!
