AMIA Service Commitment Statement

AMIA provides a range of hands-on and customised training and development opportunities for our employees. We are committed to learning and assessment which is specific for our organisation and integrates learning delivery and outcomes in the workplace being the office, factory and on-site.

Registered Training Organisation

We use Novaskill as the preferred Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or Tafe North Coast/Brisbane to deliver nationally recognised training, assessment and qualifications for our employees. Our network of qualified workplace trainers are employed by AMIA in key hands-on positions with varying levels of skills. AMIA work in conjunction with our preferred (RTO) AMIA provides supervision, mentoring, and workplace-based training.

Our workplace trainers work with the Novaskill assessors together with specialist external Training providing a range of training and development including:

• Workplace Health & Safety (also outsourcing Site Safety Inductions, Forklift Licensing)
• Training and Assessment
• Apprentices and Traineeships (Glass, Engineering/Boilermaker, Warehousing)
• Frontline Management & Project Management

School Links

AMIA demonstrates a dedicated commitment to building links with local schools through:

• School-based apprenticeships and traineeships
• Work experience for Year 10 Students unpaid through programs initiated by the Education Departments.
• Opportunities for paid student work experience, paid vacation work and teacher professional development experience
• Factory tours for school students, Tafe or higher school education teachers, university groups and several government bodies.

Industry Awards

AMIA’ Apprentices and employees have been recognised with Industry Awards. The award can be viewed on line under the Australian Industry Group. MA000010 Manufacturing and MA000002 Clerks Awards.
